Halt Sequence must be defined int the System definition in addition to the Halt Key.
The Halt Key definition only defines which key will invoke the Halt Sequence.
Server service CPU usage is higher than expected
If the Windows Server Service CPU is higher than expected, check the {INSTALL_DIR}/Logs/*.log file for any reports of systems being unmanaged with a large number of connection attempts or any reported archiving problems.
Service Fails to start with Windows Error 2140
If the Windows Server Service fails to Start and reports an NT Error 2140, check that a valid Licence is present and that there are no errors in the configuration files.
This can be checked using the Administration Utility.
Unwanted Halt sequences sent to managed devices
Unwanted Halt Sequences may be sent to managed devices if the Telnet Server has a Telnet Listener defined as RAW and not TELNET.
WARNING: The specified service does not exist as an installed service
If, when starting the Administration Utility, you see the message against a server indicating that the utility was unable to obtain a Handle to the service.
The DataStream service has not been correctly installed.
Re-Install DataStream, or use the server image -install flag to install the server as a Windows service.
Why are tokens not translated in the event text after I manually close an event?
Tokens are only translated when placed Outside quotation marks.
Ensure that the setting for MANUAL_CLOSE_TEXT, or the modified value in the Graphical User Interface .. Options .. Event .. Manual Close Text is Not enclosed in quotes.
Example
If the user manually closing the event is called FBloggs ...
Manual Close Text
Resultant Event Text
Event closed manually by {USER}.
Event closed manually by FBloggs.
"Event closed manually by {USER}."
Event closed manually by {USER}.
Why have my configuration changes not been recognised?
After changing your configuration, the DataStream server service needs to be made aware of these changes.
This can be done in one of three ways...
Either Stop and Start the DataStream service using the Windows Services Applet
Restart the DataStream server using the Admin Utility
Use the Reconfigure option found in the Graphical user Interface
The latter will NOT interrupt the DataStream server and is therefore the recommended method.
NOTE: If you have a partner server, then the configuration files need to be copied to the partner server and a reconfigure of the partner server is also required.
